RiME is a single-player puzzle adventure game about a young boy shipwrecked on a mysterious island after a torrential storm. Players must use their wits to decipher the challenges and secrets of an expansive world strewn with rugged terrain, wild creatures and the crumbling ruins of a long-forgotten civilization. With subtle narrative, colorful artwork and a sweeping score, RiME offers players a meaningful journey filled with discovery.
First revealed at Gamescom 2013, Rime was first set to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Sony pulled its publishing deal in March 2016, after the game had gone sight unseen for nearly two years; Tequila Works announced that it was then free to bring the game to other platforms.
Rime will now launch on Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and Xbox One as well as PlayStation 4, as seen at the very end of the trailer. IGN reports that the game is due in May, and more information is coming soon.
As we wait, we’ll continue to replay this gorgeous gameplay trailer, which teases Rime’s heavy The Legend of Zelda and Team Ico influences. The adventure game appears to be very much in the vein of titles like The Last Guardian and Ico in particular, with stunning scenery matched by intricate puzzles.
Works perfectly !
