Project Phoenix – PlayStationVita

Project Phoenix is an upcoming indie game being developed by Creative Intelligence Arts. A squad-based real-time strategy video game combined with strong Japanese role-playing game design influence, the project was described as Kickstarter’s first Japan-based video game project.

The development team, self-described as “featuring AAA talent”, includes former Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu, and Kiyoshi Arai, an artist for Final Fantasy XII and XIV. Violinist Hiroaki Yura serves as the game’s director and producer. The project was hoping to gather $100,000 through Kickstarter by September 2013, eventually succeeding in raising over ten times this amount. The game’s estimated release date is mid-2016.
Project Phoenix is a role-playing game with a squad based realtime-strategy game design, brought to you by veteran developers and creators from both the East and West for an adventure inspired by both Japanese and western game design philosophies. Throughout the adventure, players will piece together the mysteries of an angel with amnesia and travel through the land of Azuregard with an unusual band of heroes searching for answers.
