“Overwatch 2” is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. Released worldwide on October 27th, 2022, it is the sequel to the original Overwatch, which launched in May 2016. Overwatch 2 introduces several new heroes and maps, as well as a new role called “strike commander”, who acts as an extra tank in certain maps to help facilitate a faster push phase. New events, competitive seasons and arena modes are added regularly providing opportunities for players to showcase their skills and earn rewards. It offers a variety of gameplay modes, each offering unique objectives, mechanics and strategies. While the core game focuses around point capture or payload escort modes, other game modes include elimination, assault/defense, capture the flag, control and Escort (where attackers defend a payload while defenders try to stop its advancement). Overwatch 2 maintains the same fast-paced and colorful gameplay style as the previous iteration and is considered an excellent FPS game that appeals to casual gamers and pros alike.
